Non toxic source in UAE

While living sustainable in Dubai, we are always looking for sustainable and eco friendly products which can help us live healthy and are durable. Shopping less is difficult in Dubai but is one of the primary element of sustainable living. But I am sure after reading about these great products, you are definitely running to buy these and I promise you, you are going to be much more happy and healthy!

During my pregnancy, I read about how we end up consuming harmful toxins by prolonged use of plastic boxes for edibles, and non-stick coated pans for cooking, and how it adversely affects our health, and the brain development of children. The non-stick coating is derived from perfluoroalkyl acid, a synthetic chemical with ties to thyroid problems, ADHD, infertility in both men and women, and high cholesterol. Even aluminum utensils, after prolonged use, can pose a risk of alzheimer disease. So we stopped using all nonstick pans for cooking and shifted to only stainless steel cook wares. Cast iron and copper cookware are great replacement too.

We even sent our old plastic water bottles for recycling, and started using glass bottles. Glass is one of the only materials which doesn't react with our food, or doesn't leave any of it's molecules in our food or drink. That makes glass the safest storage material for food and beverages. However, as my son started walking and reaching out for things on tables, and ended up breaking a glass container and playing in its vicinity, I immediately stopped using all my glass bottles and got BPA free plastic bottles again. All of the glass storage boxes in my fridge got replaced by BPA free plastic boxes, waiting for the day when my son will be old enough to help me take things out of fridge without breaking them.

However, recently, when I found out about Lifefactory glass bottles and boxes, my life started getting healthier as well as free of the risk of injury, at the same time! These glass containers are covered in silicon cover on outside, which make them almost unbreakable.  These protective silicone sleeves are made from BPA/BPS-free, medical-grade silicone. They provide a non-slip gripping surface and help prevent breakage. Even the caps of these glass containers are made of BPA/BPS-free and phthalate-free polypropylene (PP#5) – safe for everyday food and beverage contact. These glass products can be recycled at the end of their service. Because of protective silicon cover, the life of the product increases and makes this product even more sustainable. Any parent of an active child can understand my concern of glass breaking and safety issues at home! :D

You can use these products in microwave, oven and even clean it in dishwasher. I am using these bottles to store water, milk, smoothies, shakes and what not. I like to carry a lifefactory bottle with me when I go out for workout or cycling or to even to the malls. Firstly these are totally spill proof, come in amazing colors and help me stay away from plastic bottles. The lifefactory glass containers have now taken the place of most of the plastic boxes in my fridge. These silicon cased glass containers are great to pack your lunch for work, and even great for baking! They also have a cute baby range of feeding bottles made of thermal shock resistant borosilicate glass. That allows these bottles to transition safely from freezer to boiling water.

If interested, you can buy lifefactory products at Organic foods and cafĂ©, The change initiative, Db babies, Favorite things and RIPE market across UAE. In any case, I would still recommend to check their company website Non toxic source. Elisabeth Stephenson, lovely mother of four kids, and the founder of Non toxic source has provided great information on which things you should banish from your home to keep toxins away.

Another amazing product line this company offers is the Jack n’ Jill toothbrush/toothpaste range from Australia. After I started using this for my son, it became our instant favorite! Jack n' Jill nontoxic tooth paste is made of only natural ingredients like organic flavors and calendula. It is even safe for kids to swallow. The children's tooth brush is BPA free and biodegradable. The handle of brush is made from corn starch and recyclable bristles are made of nylon.

The cutest ever rinse cup is made from rice husks and bamboo. It is biodegradable, compostable, PVC free and phthalate free. This cup also can be used to drink water from. What a healthy and sustainable way for our kids to start their day. My son totally loved his dinosaur brush and cup.

You can buy Jack n' Jill children tooth care product range at same places where you get Lifefactory glass products.

Both these ranges of products are sustainable and non toxic, great for our kids and family. I no longer buy any toxic products when I can get these sustainable bottles, boxes and baby tooth care products right here in Dubai. Thanks to Elisabeth, her passion for healthy living, and her quest for finding natural and pure products for her kids, made her start this business Non Toxic Source!
